DESCRIPTION

Waterproofing mineral grout, 1 Component

Properties:

• Rigid waterproofing grout
• For indoor and outdoor use
• For use on walls and floors.
• Impervious to water
• Product suitable for all kinds of usual resistant structures in constructions
• Hydraulic setting
• Easy and economic application
• It can be applied with suitable projection equipment, brush or spatula.
• Does not require a primer to adhere to wet surfaces
• Permeable to water vapour, resistant to frost and aging
• Construction waterproofing according to DIN 18195-part 2, table 7

Fields of application: Waterproofing of new and existing constructions in areas in contact with the ground against soil moisture/non-dammed infiltration moisture, water without hydrostatic pressure as well as dammed infiltrated water/water with hydrostatic pressure (in suitable constructions). Interior waterproofing against humidity coming from the exterior in landscaped or exposed double roofs, in underground garages, prefabricated garages, containers, industrial water tanks, wastewater collection wells and channels, retaining walls and locks. Usable on wall and floor surfaces. Use on surfaces not exposed to subsequent cracking. For use in tanks, a water analysis is necessary. The evaluation of the aggressiveness to concrete must be in accordance with DIN 4030. AQUAFIN-1K is resistant up to a “very aggressive” degree of attack.

Surface preparation:

The structure to be waterproofed must be resistant, compact, flat, have a surface without voids, stone nests, fissures, cracks, ridges, dust, and be free of foreign substances; such as, for example, loose material, oils, greases, paints or bitumen that impair the adhesion of the material. The structure must be moist without presenting ponding. In application on masonry walls, all joints must be sealed. Structures with large pores, such as heavy concrete and irregular masonry walls, must be leveled/rendered with mortar. In wall-floor joints and corners, on AQUAFIN-1K build half-rounds of ASOCRET-RN or cement mortar added with ASOPLAST-MZ.

Product Preparation/Application:

1. The structure must be prepared according to the characteristics described above.

2. The surface must be moistened in such a way that when AQUAFIN-1K is applied it is damp, without ponding. Unprepared or highly absorbent surfaces must be cured with ASO-UNIGRUND, allowing the layers to dry between applications.

3. Mix AQUAFIN-1K with running water in a clean container until obtaining a homogeneous lump-free mixture. With an agitator of 500-700 rpm, the mixing time should be 2-3 minutes.

4. Apply AQUAFIN-1K with suitable projection equipment, brush or spatula in at least two operations Wait before applying the second layer and each subsequent layer so that the previous one can no longer be damaged (approx. 4 to 6 hours at + 20°C and 60% rh) To obtain a uniform surface thickness, use a 4 to 6mm notched spatula and then smooth. Avoid the application of more than 2 kg/m2 per operation since, due to the high binder content, cracks may appear in the waterproofing layer.

Drainage and protection plates on surfaces in contact with the ground: All waterproofing must be protected according to DIN 18195-part 10 from damage by atmospheric conditions as well as possible mechanical damage. The protective layers must be applied once the product is completely dry. Glue the drainage and protection plates (eg INA Schutz- und Drainelement) with COMBIDIC-1K and reinforce the perimeter area with COMBIDIC-2K. Drainage according to DIN 4095 standard.

Observations:

• Protect surrounding surfaces that will not be treated against the effects of AQUAFIN-1K.

• Before application, moisten the surface until a matte wet appearance is obtained, avoiding pooling.

• Keep the surface moist for at least 24 hours after the material hardens.

• Protect the fresh coating against rain, wind, frost and direct solar radiation.

• Under strong direct solar radiation, work in the shade in the opposite direction to the path of light.

• The requirement to obtain a lasting bond between the structure and the waterproofing lining system is that the structure be resistant and stable. Completely remove all substances that inhibit or reduce adhesiveness.

Suitable procedures are cleaning with high pressure water (> 400 bar), maximum pressure water (up to 2000 bar), sandblasting and the like. The last operation should be cleaning with pressurized water. • In water tanks temperatures between approx. +10° C to +15° C. To ensure complete hydration of the cement, it is necessary for a certain time to keep the coating moist and protect it from drying out (constant relative ambient humidity > 80%).
