DESCRIPTION

MORTAR FOR RESTORING CONCRETE Y RAPID SETTING MASONRY

DESCRIPTION:

SPEED PLUG is a fast setting hydraulic cement which instantly stops water currents and keeps water out of above and below grade masonry. SPEED PLUG is a non-shrink material, expands when it sets, is non-rusting and sets 3-5 minutes after mixing, depending on mix water and surface temperature.

RECOMMENDED FOR:

  • –  Filtration plugging
  • –  Sealing cracks and cracks without movement
  • –  Sealing floor-wall joints in  water ponds and swimming pools
  • –  Repairs in concrete structures

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

The SPEED PLUG is formulated to instantly stop water leaks in areas not subject to thermal or structural movements. It is a very high-strength material with sufficient structural strength to stop water and plug leaking areas. The SPEED PLUG is usually installed by hand, although it can be used with a trowel, trowel or any other masonry tool. It does not show shrinkage in the hardened state.

HOW TO USE:

Put clean water in a container. Gradually add the SPEED PLUG dry powder to the water until a paste-like consistency is obtained, without settling. When the material is properly mixed, SPEED PLUG can be applied by hand. Use approximately one liter of water for four Kilograms of SPEED PLUG.

In very hot climates it is recommended to use ice water for mixing.

In very cold climates, heat the patching surface that will receive the material with a torch and use warm water for the mixture.

Open the crack with a square cut or, preferably, a “U” cut (do not use a V cut), this will give the patch greater mechanical adherence.

Clean the open crack of loose particles, debris, greasy soils, etc., with a wire brush, air brush or other means. Moisten the surface to be repaired immediately before patching. The SPEED PLUG is usually worked by two people, one who performs the mixing in small amounts, and the other who applies and holds the material quickly with pressure until the water seepage has stopped. Push the SPEED PLUG mixture into the crack or hole using as much pressure as possible. When trying to repair a joint between floor and wall, start the patch at the top of the crack and apply the SPEED PLUG with a lot of pressure. In areas where high water pressures exist, hold the SPEED PLUG in your hand until you feel the material generate heat; then force the material into the crack and hold it in place with a trowel, or by hand, for 5 minutes, or until the water stops seeping. After the SPEED PLUG has cured for one hour, the walls must be waterproofed with Aquapel 2 or concentrated Xypex.

PRESENTATION:
