ONE COMPONENT SEMI-SELF-LEVELLING SEALANT
 
Vulkem 45 SSL is a one component, moisture curing, low modulus polyurethane sealant. Vulkem 45 SSL provides exceptional wear resistance needed in high traffic areas.

Vulkem 45 SSL is a traffic-specified, semi-self-leveling sealant that pours with exceptional movement capability. Vulkem 45 SSL can be applied to wet, green concrete.
 
Applications
 
Vulkem 45 SSL is formulated to be used in expansion joints, sidewalk floors, plazas and any horizontal surface with slopes up to 6% slope (Example 1 inch for every 16 inch of execution).

Board Design
 
Vulkem 45 SSL may be used in the design of horizontal joints in accordance with accepted architectural and engineering practices. The width of the joint must be 4 times the anticipated movement of the joint, but not less than 6.4mm (1/4”).
 
Gasket Support
 
The use of BACKER ROD, cross-linked closed cell polyethylene, is recommended for joint support and sealant depth control to ensure intimate contact of the sealant with the joint walls. The backer rod must be properly set for use with self-leveling sealants to prevent spillage during joint curing. Use polyethylene adhesive to prevent adhesion on three sides where the depth of the joint does not allow the use of Backer rod. All backing must be dry at time of sealant application.
