PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
 
AQUAFIN-4×4-MESH is a fiberglass mesh treated with an acrylic based specialty coating that provides alkali resistance and flame retardance. It reinforces the tear resis- tance of AQUAFIN-2K/M, DECORFLEX-P , DECORFLEX-R and similar waterproofing or insulation products.
 
TYPICAL APPLICATION
 
Reinforcing of AQUAFIN flexible cementitious protective coating and waterproofing products over: cracks zones posed to cracking  construction joints wall/floor or wall/wall joints corners.
 
INSTALLATION METHOD
 
AQUAFIN-4×4-MESH is supplied in rolls of 38”x50YD(0.965mx45.7m). It can be cut in strips or any desired shape, to be used over individual cracks, or used in sheets to reinforce entire surfaces. It can also be folded into corners for added strength.
 
Install 1st coat (layer) AQUAFIN-2K/M or DECORFLEX-P or R.
Immediately embed AQUAFIN-4×4-MESH into fresh (wet) layer, using a steel trowel.
Work from center to the edges of the mesh.
Smooth out any wrinkles in the mesh forcing it down.
Cover with 2nd coat AQUAFIN-2K/M or DECORFLEX-P or R, same or next day.
 Overlap mesh joints at least 21⁄2-inches (65 mm).
Double-wrap mesh over exposed corners for extra reinforcement.
For vertical surfaces where full width is desired, work from top to bottom.
Trim any excess exposed mesh.
 
Note:4×4-MESH reduces the elongation of “2K/M”, “P” or “R” coating layers up to 90%.
add 10% to 20% additional quantity AQUAFIN-2K/M, DECORFLEX-P or R in your calculations to properly embed the 4×4-MESH.
 
STORAGE & SHELF LIFE
 
Store in a dry enclosed area off the ground, on its roll or lying flat. Crumpled, wrinkled or creased mesh may be difficult to work with. Protect from direct sunlight. Shelf life in unopened, original packaging is 2 years.
